In addition to saving layer states by name, you can quickly revert to a previous layer setting by clicking the Previous tool on the Home tab’s expanded Layers panel. This tool enables you to revert to the previous layer settings without affecting other settings in AutoCAD. Note that Previous mode doesn’t restore renamed or deleted layers, nor does it remove new layers.

After you become familiar with these layer-state tools, you’ll find yourself using them frequently in your editing sessions.
